HTS of MicroRNA inhibitors to drug resistance in lung cancer

Alexander Pertsemlidis Lab

Fall, 2008

We worked on to determine which miRNAs can sensitize lung cancer cells to chemotherapeutic drugs. We performed a high-throughput screen using microRNA inhibitors to determine miRNAs responsible from drug resistance. We found that presence of miRNAs can affect response of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) cell lines to taxol. Resistance of NSCLS cell lines to taxol treatment can be sensitized by microRNA inhibitors (Exiqon)
