Academic areas of interest - which areas of biology most excite you and which you would like to pursue for post-graduate study (300 word limit)
I have extensive scientific experience from different labs and project works. I have taken role in 4 different projects. Although I have worked on a wide range of topics, I have, throughout my career, been most interested in the developmental biology, human embryology and stem cells in addition to molecular biology and genetics.
I am working on embryonic and trophoblast stem cells and trying to clarify epigenetic mechanisms regulating stem cell differentiation in placenta. In particular, my study is HIF interactions and histone modifications. Therefore, I am experienced in embryonic stem cell and trophoblast stem cell culture, cell treatment with hypoxia, total RNA isolation, extraction of nuclear and histone proteins and Western blotting.
After my PhD program, I consider to go ahead on my academic career as a postdoctoral study and then as a faculty member. As the final destination, I want to be a professional scientist working on human embryology and stem cells, achieving breakthroughs in this area of research. In this route, I want to do my graduate study at one of the distinguished universities, with professional scientists working on developmental biology and stem cells. I am applying to this graduate program to achieve my first step in the way to my final goal in my science life.
I am aware of the requirements and the responsibility to achieve these aims and I think my previous studies show that I have the necessary background and perseverance to realize my future plans.
