I am a last year student in the Department of Molecular Biology and
Genetics at the Middle East Technical University, Ankara-Turkey. I
have reviewed your web site and have got a clear idea of the work
undertaken in your laboratory. (makalenizi okuduma felan gerek yok, calismaniz cok ilgimi cekti ve ilerde bununla ilgili calismak istiyorum da diyebilirsin )
This summer, I studied at Caltech in the Stathopoulos' Lab as an
undergraduate researcher. I tried to identify transcription factors that
recognize a specific site in ind enhancer affecting dorsaletaral
patterning in early Drosophila embryo by performing one hybrid screens.
In this lab, I did most of the experiments alone. As I mentioned in my
CV, I have learned a number of basic protocols about yeast. I got used
to studying effectively in a lab and learned how to implement a

Last year, I studied as an undergraduate student in Dr.AKKAYA's
Laboratory. We studied on the genes induced upon biotic and abiotic
stresses such as fungi and Boron. In this laboratory, I made PCR, DNA
and RNA isolation, Reverse PCR, Electrophoresis techniques and some
other basic molecular biology experiments. ( burada da baska varsa calisman ondan bahsedersin, yoksa bu kisim olmasa da olur)
I want to apply for PhD in your university for the next year. Since I
want to study in a qualified lab, could I ask you if you could take
me to your lab as undergraduate researcher for this summer? I believe

I am a third year student in the Department of Molecular Biology andGenetics at The Middle East Technical University, Ankara-Turkey. I have reviewed web site and have given me a clear idea of the work undertaken in the laboratory. Especially the study titled"********** "attracted me so much. And I have great desire to study in your subject. Since I have a keen interest in *****, I want to do my summer practice on such subject.
I am still studying as an undergraduate researcher at Professor Dr.****'s laboratory of Molecular Biology and Genetics. Our current project involved with *****; Determination ofthe genes induced upon biotic and abiotic stresses such as fungi andBoron (B). In other words, triggering defense responses in plants byperforming infections so the detection of plant disease resistance gene of wheat to its specific pathogen, Puccinia striiformis which causes yellow rust in cereals. In this laboratory, I made PCR, DNA and RNA isolation, Reverse PCR, Electrophoresis techniques and some other basic molecular biology experiments. I get used to study effectively in a lab and learned how to perform a scientific experiment.
This summer I would like to perform an internship and do the researchof my interest. Since I want to intern in a qualified lab, could I askyou if you could take me to your lab as an undergraduate researcher for about ten weeks? If you would, I am sure I will learn very muchfrom your knowledge and experience. I have taken a lot of related courses in this area. I hope, this will be a good experience in this area before studying my Master of Science Degree on Developmental Biology.
